Abstract

During the last few months, the spread of Coronavirus has dramatically affected the energy demand around the world, especially in China, the largest consumer of crude oil. Most factories have stopped production, and thousands of flights worldwide have been cancelled. The virus started in Wuhan, China, and is now a pandemic. Our study uses an analytical approach to analyse the international market situation of oil in light of current circumstances. We conclude that this virus has lowered the demand for brut oil, deteriorating oil prices. It is worth pointing out that the countries that export brut oil are the most affected by this crisis, especially the ones whose economy depends entirely on hydrocarbons.
